In the winter of 1997, Santa Cruz-native Christopher T. Lee fell in love with his first Nord Lead I synth—and Limaçon was born. Over the ensuing decade, Limaçon has carved a solid international rep, first via live PAs and later with electrifying DJ sets, as an artist who puts the move back into minimal. In the last two years, Limaçon made the move to San Francisco and scaled down his imposing hardware arsenal in order to focus on studio work. And focus he certainly did. From the expansive dance-floor journeys of his live sets, Limaçon has honed his sound into subtle, finely structured glitch-house gems that linger in the ear long after the record ends.

Limaçon’s debut record Catch, released on Steve Bug's seminal Poker Flat label in 2005, brought the producer instant acclaim, selling thousands of copies in the first six months. The next year followed up with heavy releases from Resopal, Intrinsic Design and Force Inc. Since then we've seen multiple releases through San Francisco label Auralism Records and Toronto based Thoughtless Music. Auralism taking the stripped down bumpity and Thoughless developing a wider range of his sound from raw jacking to deep brooding to straight up dancefloor bombs.

His tracks have been played by Wink, D'Julz, Florian Meindl, Mark Henning, Mateo Murphy, Alexi Delano, Tommy Four Seven, Chris Fortier, Alland Byallo, Deepchild, Killowatts and many more solidifying Limaçon's reputation as an underground innovator.

As a producer pursuing both the warmth of house music and the machine edge of minimal techno, Limaçon slips perfectly into the modern spectrum. "I love analog synthesis, which the essence of minimal techno. Minimal is about exploration, creating new sounds. But I try to keep that funk in my music, because at the end of the day, this music is for the dance floor. I try to keep a balance between something for your mind and something for your body, between experimenting with new sounds and giving people something they can grab onto."

Deejaying and producing for over 12 years now, WD4D's performed at shows with artists such as KRS-1, Lyrics Born, The Coup, Pigeon John, Cheb-i-Sabbah, Afrika Bambatta, Caural, Aceyalone, 2MEX & Xololanxinxo (OMD), Myka Nine, Jean Grae, Planet Asia & Rasco, Gza, Maleko, Abstract Rude, Busdriver, Oh No, and Diverse, as well as local favorites: Abyssinian Creole, Yirim Seck, Blue Scholars, Common Market, Alpha P, Mind Movers, Phreewill, & Cyphalliance, amongst others.

For over 3 years now, WD4D has been spending his Saturday nights at KBCS 91.3 fm, dj'ing on Zulu Radio, along with co-hosts S. Malik, dj Able, & Zulu King Khazm. Tune in analog, or digital (kbcs.fm) weekly from 10pm-12am. WD's discography includes productions for a number of West Coast artists including: Awol & Existereo (Shapeshifters), Xololanxinxo, Bukue One, Maleko, Tommy V (Toca/Imprints), Cyphalliance, CNI, Asun & Jerm (Alpha P), Raj, EX2, Matre (The League). Seattle's Gel-Sol is producer/musician Andrew Reichel, whose dichotomous sound spans from ambient soundscapes to complex, rhythmic electronica, creating a dynamic psychedelic universe with heavy emphasis on improvisation. In 2004, Gel-Sol released the critically-acclaimed Gel-Sol 1104 (aka Music Made For You...And By You, I Mean Me.) on the UK's cult ambient label Em:t Records. Gel-Sol's follow-up album Unifactor continues the tradition of his unique, amorphous sound collages, and was released on Upstairs Recordings (Vancouver) in April 2007. Gel-Sol's third album IZ, released by Upstairs/Psychonavigation in 2008, is an all-ambient excursion written for his niece, and is a bit of a departure from his previous two efforts. Andrew is also a member of the electronic group KIDS FOR TOMORROW, an improvisational trio focused on experimental ambient music.

A truly original software/hardware Live Performance Artist running in a minimalistic half step Drum N Bass framework, overturned by heavy, floor rumbling Dub Step like bass lines infused with elements of dub, reggae, hip hop and more. A true artist in every sense of the word working on not only music but also Ultra Violet paint and acrylic sculptures. Three solid years have been put into a solid live performance set which is now ready to knock you off your feet and turn your dancing world up side down. The latest addition of out of this world effects composed from complex racks inside Ableton Live controlled by Kaoss Pad II and a large pallet of glitch, stutter and tempo bending buttons and knobs.
