Named after different slang terms for the childhood “fainting game,” in which kids choke themselves in order to pass out, the tracks from Hanssen’s new EP Choke will indeed induce a temporary euphoria with their shimmering synthwork, invigorating forward motion and catchy dance floor melodies. Growing in intensity with each passing track, Choke rouses the senses to an excited awareness, ending with two remixes that provide a cooling contrast to the high-energy EP.

Well known for his world-touring work as part of house duo Jacob London with David Pezzner, Bob Hansen AKA Hanssen has been producing progressive electronica for over fifteen years and performing his spirited sound around the globe. Now turning his attention towards the creation of rocktronic-influenced beats and disco house, Hanssen infuses every track with fresh melodic hooks, ambiguous textures and a quirky playfulness.
